Homemade bread is almost magic, nourishing images of security and warmth in our minds.
On February 20, instructors Anne Little and Heidi West shared their tips for how to make magic happen in your own kitchen. Participants learned three different bread recipes, including one baked in a Dutch oven! All three recipes are simple, involve basic bread-making techniques which are the foundations of making any type of bread, and fed the imaginations of participants.

As we absorbed Anne and Heidi's knowledge, we satisfied our cravings with the bread they made:
  • Cuban white bread -quick rising, less than 1 hour start to finish, and amazing straight out of the oven & slathered in butter!
  • No-yeast Dutch rye bread - scrumptious with creme fraiche and bread-and-butter pickles!
  • Dutch oven cinnamon rolls - imagine wowing your companions with this breakfast on a summer canoe trip!
