Effective October 2009
1. The Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) Truck Share (TS)
program exists for the purpose of providing MUD members and
residents of the greater Missoula area with a reliable truck to
assist them in personal (not-for-profit) projects related to home
improvement, gardening, material transportation, and other
non-recreational and non-commercial needs.
2. MUD Members and MUD Staff (VISTAs, interns, Board of Directors,
and approved volunteers) can participate in the TS program by
filling out an application and paying the $5.00 annual TS fee.
Application may take up to one business week.
3. Additional costs associated with using a TS truck include a
rental fee of $5/hour as well as a $0.45 per mile surcharge.
4. Cost of gas purchased while using the TS will be deducted from
rental charges if a gas receipt is provided when the truck is
returned.
5. MUD Members and MUD Staff may use a TS truck for personal use
based on the following conditions:
• All drivers must be MUD members or otherwise affiliated with
MUD.
• All drivers must have current drivers license and a clean driving
record.
• Appropriate uses of a TS truck include but are not limited to:
personal use for home improvement projects, light home
construction, gardening, hauling project and lawn materials,
moving, transporting tools to and from the MUD Tool Library, and
purposes related to volunteering for MUD projects, events, and
programs.
• Inappropriate uses of a TS truck include but are not limited to:
personal and commercial for-profit projects, recreational use, and
transporting illegal goods or products.
TRUCK SHARE USE AGREEMENT
1. Truck Share log (inside the vehicle and MUD office) must be
filled out at the time of check out and updated when returned.
2. Payment for truck rental must be made when returning vehicle and
keys.
3. Truck must be returned clean and free of debris, trash, and
personal effects both in the cab and in the bed.
4. Truck may be driven ONLY by MUD member or staff who rented
vehicle.
5. Truck may be used only during time reserved and must be returned
at designated time.
6. Reservations and cancellations must be confirmed with the MUD at
least 24 hours in advance.
7. Lost truck key replacement fee of $20.00 will be assessed. 8.
Truck Share trucks available ONLY to MUD members who have completed
the application process (process may take up to one business
week).
9. Driver of Truck Share truck will be held financially responsible
for all damage to vehicle, other property, or individuals incurred
while driver was in possession of vehicle.
10. MUD is not financially or legally responsible for any activity
or damage in which a Truck Share truck is involved while in use by
any individual.
