The philosophy,
many are better than one is a core aspect of MUD's mission.
One of MUD's key attributes is the strength of its community bonds,
and this is evident in 30 years spent developing relationships
between neighbors, MUD members and the Missoula community. Local
organizations, programs, businesses, agencies and individuals work
together and benefit together from these partnerships, thereby
increasing this community's capacity for a sustainable
future.
COMMUNITY
PARTNERS LIST
In this section, we
highlight the community partners whose collaboration provides
significant major support and strength to MUD's community service
programs. Please help us show our appreciation by supporting
the following individuals, businesses and organizations.
THANK YOU to the
following:
Home Resource
Home Resource and MUD
have been collaborating since reusable materials were first
collected at the MUD site in the 1990s. Today, both organizations
serve critical roles in the Missoula sustainability community. Our
symbiotic origins result in on-going collaboration as both of our
sites work towards improvement, rennovation, and
expansion.
Garden City Harvest
MUD and Garden City
Harvest have been collaborating since GCH began in 1996. Years
earlier, MUD had estalished Missoula's first community garden, the
Northside garden, and eventually transfered its management to GCH.
Today, we collaborate on local food education and resource sharing
for youth and adults, and community events.
Garden City Recycling promotes environmental stewardship by providing neighborhoods throughout Missoula with reliable curbside pick-up of recyclable materials.
Zootown Arts Community Center
MUD and the ZACC have
been collaborating since the ZACC was founded in 2008. Both
organizations are dedicated to revitalizing Missoula's
Northside/Westside neighborhoods, and work together on resource
mapping & awareness projects, as well as joint education
programs for Missoula adults and youth.
Missoula Valley Recycling
For years, MVR has
donated monthly recycling pick-up to MUD, enabling us to
demonstrate recycling as a key component of sustainable living.
Recycling opportunities in the Missoula community provide education
and result in increasing awareness regarding consumption and waste
generation.
